Ron Dyson

As is evident in much of his work, Ron holds a deep passion for the natural world - especially across the West Country and in the rainforests of the Far East.

Ron graduated in Architecture and Planning at University College London and much of his earlier professional life was based in the Public Relations and Marketing field. He is now applying his artistic skills more fully and has married his interest in nature and art to create artworks that capture the spirit, energy and beauty of the natural world around us.

He has developed a highly distinctive illustrative style using acrylics, water colour, ink and gouache – with subjects ranging from evocative composite images founded on abstract subconscious thoughts to a wide range of animals, birds and insects that so many of us take for granted. Many of his compositions feature familiar local landmarks along the Jurassic coast and other areas of the West Country - although the wildlife of the surrounding countryside is invariably the focus. 

He has also produced a number of bronze sculptures, inspired by the work of acclaimed sculptor, Jill Berelowitz, as well as dioramas and other forms of artwork. 

Following participation in Dorset Art Weeks, a display of his work in Bristol and a successful solo exhibition at Arundells in Salisbury, his work now features regularly at various art shows and galleries.
